Quilted Maple Hand-turned Bowl

$100.00

Quilted maple wood goes by many names including angle step, bubble wrap or, popcorn. Experts believe the pattern is caused by a mixture of genetics and growing conditions. More specifically, it’s seen only in parts of the tree which grew at an angle.

This rare figuring gives this bowl movement- when the light moves across the curves of this bowl the soft bubbly grain moves like clouds.

Material: Figured Maple

Dimensions: 3” x 8.75”

Weight: 16 oz

Bowl finish and care:

These bowls are sanded down to 400 grit and finished with pure walnut oil and are food safe, liquids are not recommend. Because the wood is not permanently sealed, high or low moister extremes can have some effects. Best practice is to keep them regularly oiled and in a stable climates.
