Wild Tansy Tops

from $5.00

Weld may be the gold standard for natural yellow dyes, but frankly, I still prefer Wild Tansy. You probably know this tansy as a “noxious weed” or associate it with some strange British pudding, but in world of natural color, it’s a superstar.

With most mordants (yes, you’ll probably want to use a mordant with this one) you’ll get bright, solid yellows, but iron will start to turn it green-which is fine too.

If natural dye isn’t your thing, maybe botanical inks are. I am downright pleased with our tansy top ink. You can try ours or play around with making your own. 2 oz. of dried tansy should yield appx. 1 fl.oz. of ink crafted to your own liking.
